Warren Circuit Court Judge Steve Wilson may soon deny a motion by the national Pi Kappa Alpha fraternal organization requesting dismissal from a lawsuit filed by the estate of slain Western Kentucky University student Katie Autry.
In a hearing Thursday, Wilson said he would issue a decision soon, but is “leaning toward” a denial until further evidence is available. Wilson required more time to review previous similar cases cited by plaintiff’s attorney Ben Crocker. He also said that due to an ongoing investigation, there is a lack of clarity concerning if and to what extent the national fraternal organization and local campus chapter contributed to the circumstances surrounding Autry’s death May 7.
