More than 3,000 members of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity will gather in Charlotte this week for the organization's 73rd annual Southern convention.
One highlight of the Thursday-through-Sunday gathering will be a visit from former Atlanta Mayor and U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young, who will speak at the Westin Hotel 6 p.m. Friday. The event is free and open to the public.
